We recently had a customer contact us with this question regarding accessing security cameras remotely from Geovision using a blackberry cell phone.

Q: I attempted to install the BBview app on both a Blackberry 8900 and the new Bold 9700 with no luck. When I try to connect to the DVR I get the following error message:

TCP Connection Error

TCP Connection Error

RUN ERROR:java.io.IOException: Invalid url parameter

A1: As of now, Geovision supports up the latest Blackberry OS version 4.7. Is the Bold running on version 5.0 or later. If that is the case, then we do not have support for those mobile phones yet. GeoVision is currently working on a new BBView application release that will support OS version 5.0 and above. If you are running 4.7 or below follow steps below.

A2: Try a direct TCP connection. This will be under the APN information the user has configured under Options, Advanced Options, TCP. This should allow you to connect using BBview.
