Below are step by step instructions to setup your DVR or IP Camera for remote viewing.

1.) First Make sure your DVR or IP Camera support remote viewing

2.) Second you need to obtian the ip address and the port of your DVR or IP camera. Typically you can find this under network within the system menu of your DVR or IP camera.

3.) Once you have the ip address and port info for your camera log into your router. Now click this link and find the port forwarding instructions that correspond with your routerhttp://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Internet-Surveillance-Setup-s/156.htm

4.) Now that you have the port forwarding setup, go to this web page http://videos.cctvcamerapros.com/check-open-port-forwarding-tool. Check and make sure port 80 is open.

5.) Take the ip address you get from the open port tool and type that into your web browser or Client software.

Hello,

Please see below setup instructions on how to setup Port Forwarding on a ZyXEL Router.

1.) Open a web browser and type in http://192.168.1.1

2.) It will prompt you for the username and password. By default Username: admin Password: 1234

3.) Now Click on the NAT link.

4.)There should be a dot in the SUA Only setting. If this isn't the case, you can not setup port forwarding without making a major change to your network. I wouldn't advise changing this unless you know what you are doing. Alright, if there is a dot in the SUA Only setting, go ahead and click Edit Details.

5.) Now fill in the following info:

Start Port: The port # of your Camera/DVR
End Port: Same as start port
IP Address: The LAN [internal IP address] IP address for your Camera/DVR

6.) When you're finished, click Save near the bottom of the screen to save your changes

7.) Now make sure the port is open with the following open port forwarding checker tool: http://videos.cctvcamerapros.com/check-open-port-forwarding-tool

NOTE: If the port is open you will use the Remote IP Address you get from the open port tool that you used above. However you will need to type it in as follows via web browser http://ipaddress:port number, eg. if your ip address is 74.96.36.98 than it should look like this when you type it into your web browser http://74.96.36.98:8000.

Just wondering if it is possible to use an i-phone as a recording device to record video files from an IP camera/s.
This would overcome the need to have my PC running constantly to capture movement activated videos.
Am open to any suggestions as the only kit I have at present are 2 i-phones (3G & 3GS).

Regards

Im looking at purchasing the Zavio F731E Outdoor IP Camera, Infrared, Weatherproof camera. I want to make sure i have the necessary modem and router to support the camera and have a painless setup. Right now i'm using the ATT 2wire modem/router. After doing a little research and talking with ATT support, i was told that this unit didnt support UPNP which i needed for an IP camera. Is there a modem and router you recommend i buy before i purchase the camera i spec'd above. Thanks for any information you can give me......Jeff

A customer contacted CCTV Camera Pros yesterday that wanted to use the Zavio F312A to watch the a computer monitor. The customer was interested in seeing the resolution and video quality that the camera was capable of for this type of applications.

CCTV Camera Pros created the following video sample using a Zavio F312A and a NUUO surveillance system. We then exported the video as an ASF file from NUUO. ASF files can be played in Windows Media Player.

Click on the below link to play the sample F312A surveillance video:

I’m considering a security camera system for my home and hope you will help. I want cameras with enough “resolution?” so that I can recognize / identify someone at 30-40 ft. Most of the small system I’ve seen for home use are “useless” in that the resolution is so poor at a distance you can’t see faces just blurry figures. I doubt anyone with bad intentions will walk up and look in the camera at 3-4 ft. What type of outdoor cameras should I be considering.

A potential customer recently contacted CCTV Camera Pros with some questions related to Geovision and then NUUO. Here is the transcript:

Customer:
I am interesting by your PCPRO-GV8 Geovision DVR Computer but I need some information on it. I plan to put 4 analog camera and 4 megapixel IP camera (with H264) on it Every camera would be run on Geovision DVR surveillance software. Is it possible? How much IP camera can I connect to Geovision DVR software ?

Support:
You would need to purchase the Geovision IP license found here in addition to the PC that you mentioned:

http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Geovision-NVR-Software-p/gv-nvr.htm.

And then you would be able to do everything that you mentioned.

Customer:
If I bought GV-NVR Geovision IP Security Camera Software, NVR License, 3rd Party Cameras with 4 camera licenses, do I need to run two software separately to run my camera : one for ip camera ( Ip security camera software) and one for analog (geovision) or can I integrate both camera (ip and analog) in geovision version 8.2 with the IP licenses.

Support:
Yes, you can integrate the Geovision DVR cards, Geovision 1st party IP camera licenses, as well as Geovision 3rd Party IP camera licenses on the same Geovision PC.

Customer:
Do you know if geovision NVR software 3rd party IP camera version is compatible with:

AV5155DN 5.0 megapixel MegaDome Armor Dome H.264 IP Camera from Arecont Vision SKU#: AV5155DN

ACTi ACM1232 Megapixel uotdoor IP IR bullet camera.

Support:
I am sorry but those cameras are not yet supported yet according to the latest Geovision IP camera compatibility list.

Customer:
If I use the Nuuo NVR mini network video recorder 4 channel, $899.99 and connect it to the same network of my geovision computer, do you think it is possible to do that? Do you know if my 2 ip camera megapixel are supported by Nuuo NVR?

AV5155DN 5.0 megapixel MegaDome Armor Dome H.264 IP Camera from Arecont Vision SKU#: AV5155DN

ACTi ACM1232 Megapixel uotdoor IP IR bullet camera.

Both models are not listed on your list of compatible IP camera.

Support:
Here is a link to the list of supported cameras by the NUUO NVRmini:
http://support.nuuo.com/mediawiki/index.php/NVRmini_supported_cameras

Connecting a NUUO NVR it to the same network as a Geovision system is not a problem.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
