Hey Wolverine,

I contacted Geovision and they recommended the DMMultiview Software to view your cameras without running Active X controls. You can find this software on your GeoVision Disk that came with your card or you can download from this link.

I will look into that and see if they have a remote client that does not require Active X controls

Thanks James

Hi James:

Thanks for the information. I really do not like to downgrade - I use the multiple view in the Webcam through internet explorer. The earlier versions are not as good. However I could not use it in my company laptop because the company laptop does not allow these activeX installations. Was hoping the TCP client software will avoid the problem. Wish Geovision can re-insert the TCP/IP server even without updates.

I do not have an iPhone yet but certainly this new feature will be very useful and allow people to view the cameras at any time.

Thanks

Hey Wolverine,

Unfortunately GeoVision did away with the Remote Client software and the TCP/IP Server. The only way to get that feature you will have to downgrade your software to 8.2 or earlier. If you do choose to downgrade you will not be able to use the sweet I-Phone app as seen here http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Geovision-iPhone-Application-GV-iView-Setup-s/329.htm

Thanks James

I have a GV800 system with software 8.3.2. I would like to use the remote viewer software on client PCs due to the restrictions on Client PCs making web access not feasible. However, I could not find the TCP/IP in either the network menu or the system configuration menu as was shown in the Geovision Technical menu. ANybody can provide some insight why this happens.

Previously I used an earlier version of GV800 card with software 6.1 which I do not have this problem.

Thanks
