Typically, as with the DVRs that CCTV Camera Pros supplies, they come with remote viewing / network viewing software which can also backup video over the network or Internet. You will not be able to just telnet into the DVR and do anything useful. You need to find out if anyone has the software that came with that DVR.</p> <p>In answer to your other question, a regular network cable should work fine. I want to connect via the RJ-45 port to transfer the video files during the crime to my laptop for analysis &amp; preservation.<br /> Will an Ethernet cable work or do I need a specifically "RJ-45" cable?<br /> Do I just telnet into it using the MAC address listed on the back of the DVR unit?<br /> Any tips in the right direction appreciated - thank you!<br /> -AmyK </p>
