The iDVR-PRO8 and iDVR-PRO16 video surveillance DVRs from CCTV Camera Pros support recording audio and remotely monitoring live as well as playing back recorded audio surveillance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: audio surveillance recording falls under strict federal wire tapping laws and can also have additional restrictions enforced by State and local governments. CCTV Camera Pros highly recommends consulting with an attorney before recording audio.

To setup the iDVR-PRO surveillance DVR for audio recording and monitoring, please follow these instructions:

  • Connecting the microphone on the iDVR-PRO requires a standard rca connector, this can be accomplished using a standard bnc to rca connector and standard bnc jumper.

[*]iPims is the enterprise management software for iDVR-PRO and can be downloaded here: https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/CCTV-DVR-MAC-Viewer-s/403.htm#software. Enabling audio in the iPims software is as simple as opening the feed to your dvr and selecting your channel. Once the channel is selected, the "Listen Audio" prompt should appear, select it.[/*]
