A customer recently purchased 5 of the Geovision GV-BX120D-E cold weather security cameras, as well as two IEEE802.3at compliant POE switches. The customer had the following question:

Can the GV-BX120D-E cold weather IP cameras and outdoor housing (heater blower) be powered using the IEEE802.3at POE switch or do does the 24V AC power adapter that came with the camera need to be used in order for the heater to work?

CCTV Camera Pros confirmed with Geovision that you can either use the power adapter that comes with the camera OR a high power POE injector (34.2W). Either one will supply power to the camera as well as the housing.
