OK, short story. American living in Brazil. Wife (Brazilian) and I own a school here that teaches info tech and English. Installed security cam system 2 years ago and the installer bailed with the software for it. As close as I can figure, its a Geovision GV800 card with 16 channels. The id tag has been removed and there is no bar code to identify for drivers. Also used the DMMULTIVIEW to monitor. Found ref. to geovision mpeg encoders in our remote computer. Must be a Geovision card!!!?? Anyway, I know exactly ZERO about this stuff and I need to pick it up fast. Our school is without security monitoring cams. It was recording and storaing off site. I really REALLY need to know how this works and I need the drivers and…everything. Help is deeply appreciated. Thanks.

    Rowdee,

Sorry no one responded sooner. It definitely sounds like you have a Geovision system. Here are some resources to help you confirm and sort things out.

Thanks Mike. After looking thru the specs, I believe its a GV600 type D card. Its PCI and not PCI-E and the res was quite low. I understand the drivers cover a range of these things and my primary mission is to get the drivers. We had a computer made for this and it has a 2nd HD with XP on board just for the system. Ours did include and audio channel also. After this, setting up the system is next. The downside, the company that installed has all the recording and storage offsite. They are dicks tho. Trying to get them back to help and they arent cooperative. They know we´re on to them. So, drivers?

    Rowdee,

    Your welcome 🙂

Unfortunately, we can only provide Geovision driver downloads to customers that we have supplied the equipment to, however, you can access the US branch of Geovision download center here:

    https://www.usavisionsys.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=1

You may also want to let them know that the distributor that you purchased from is not being cooperative. Maybe they can help you with that and make sure it does not happen further.

    I hope this helps.

    Rowdee,

I am really sorry to hear that the Geovision card that you have is not real. CCTV Camera Pros pricing on Geovision cards can be found here:

    https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Geovision-DVR-Cards-s/27.htm

You can rest assured that you are getting your card from a authorized distributor when you purchase Geovision equipment from CCTV Camera Pros. A 3 year warranty is included on cards.

Hi Mike. Thought you might get a chuckle out of this. We have rectified our problem here and Im still smiling. I was in touch with Thomas Wu from Geovision and he really tried to help, but could pnly verify that the card was a fake. Hmmm!!!?? I can be pretty devious myself and after some 10 phone calls to these guys, finally convinced them that we really needed their help getting things working again. Well, Monday morning and guess whos sitting in front of my office this morning. Oh yes, lock the doors and start reaming them. I told them I was in touch with GV directly and we know the cards a fake. Seems they got a legit package and replaced the real board with a fake. Long story short, we now have a brand new, in the box (computer box) GV-800 installed and working. I have all software, hardware and serial numbers. Cost!!!??? $0. When the attorney made her presence know, everyone got real righteous. There is only one distributor here and he is aware of these guys also. They cant get anything from him without careful scrutiny. Thanks to you and to Thomas for all the info. I couldnt have done this without learning something from you. Many thanks again. The good guys won!
