I have an IP Camera that has an Alarm input. It an detect the alarm trigger and start to send image snapshots via FTP at some time interval. However, I need a camera will upload a single snapshot via FTP when the alarm input is trigger is detected.

I read your article “Network IP Camera Digital IO Alarm Input / Output Setup” (http://videos.cctvcamerapros.com/digital-io-alarm-in-out/network-ip-camera-digital-io-setup.html) and I’d like to know: Does Zavio IP Cameras do what I want? or do you know any camera models that can do that?

I received the above question from a customer this morning. Here is the response that I sent.

Thank you for contacting CCTV Camera Pros and for reading my article.

Yes, Zavio IP cameras can FTP upload a single snapshot image to a server based on an external alarm being triggered. Please look at the below screenshot of the FTP server configuration screen in the Zavio firmware. Notice that the number of pre and post event snapshots can be configured between 0-5 images. If you only want a single snapshot of the event, both of these fields would be set to zero.
