A customer asked CCTV Camera Pros the following question:
I want to buy an iDVR-E16, 16ch Stand Alone DVR, H.264, iPhone, Blackberry, Android. Initially, I'd want a 500Gb HDD included, but I'd like to know: if I want to change it for another bigger HDD, can I buy an ordinary HDD SATA to replace it or ther is a special type of HDD to use with iDVR?
Here is our response:
Yes, you can replace the hard drive in any of our iDVR-E series recorders with a standard SATA HDD up to 2TB in size. We use Seagate surveillance grade drives because they are designed for higher demand writing applications, however, a standard SATA works too. It just may not last as long as the surveillance grade drives.
