My Lorex Wireless Camera has a power wire with a female connector on the end which then plugs in to the male connector of the 12 volt power adapter.

I had to cut the wire about a foot from the camera (before the female adapter) in order to remove it. I trimmed the single wire coming from the camera (assuming there would be two wires inside to splice)but there is only one wire and some fine strand wire around it which I pulled back out of the way. I spliced the single wire to the female connector portion and plugged it in ..but no dice.

Do I need to some how splice all the fine strand wires together also?

…Or would I be able to buy a new female connector for it and put it on? (Shorten the wire)

    Thanks,

    rpciam,

Unfortunately, those wires are not designed to be cut and spliced. Typically, the only way this issue is fixed is to solder a new power wire to the camera board and it is usually difficult or impossible to get these from camera manufacturers.

Sorry I do not have better news for you.
