The best way to run an open port check using this tool is with your mobile device connected via WIFI to the network router that you are testing the port forwarding rule for. When you are connected via WIFI, the tool will automatically detect the public IP address of your Internet connection and by default will in the IP address / hostname field for you. If you are connected to the Internet via 3G, there is no way for the tool to detect your router's Internet IP address. However, you can manually enter any IP address or host name in the host field to check.
