A customer recently asked the following:

Is it possible to setup and go to preset points on a PTZ surveillance camera using the JPEG dual codec DVR?

    CCTV Camera Pros response:

You can follow these instructions for setting up preset points for a PTZ camera on the JPEG dual codec DVR:

    1) Click the PTZ button (this will full screen the camera channel with the PTZ camera), move the PTZ to your first desired preset position

    2) Click CH9 [SET], this will display SET PRESET [XX] move the inner jog shuttle wheel to change the value of [XX] to the desired preset number, start with [01], then click the SET button (CH9) to save that preset number, you can also save the preset using the OK (Enter) button. Move the PTZ to your second preset position and repeat with SET PRESET [02] and so on until you have setup all your preset positions, some PTZ domes will display when the preset number is successfully created on the screen.

    3) Click CH11 [GOTO], this will display GOTO PRESET [XX] move the inner jog shuttle wheel to change the value of [XX] to the preset position value you previously determined, then click the GOTO (CH11) button or the OK (Enter) button (click twice if necessary) and the PTZ will move to that preset point.

Please note that the JPEG dual codec DVR has been discontinued and CCTV Camera Pros now recommends our iDVR series H.264 stand alone DVR.
