    Hi there,

I'm looking at two cameras with exactly the same features…except for the TVL. They are as follows:

SONY 500 TVL VANDAL PROOF DOME CAMERA

SONY 420 TVL VANDAL PROOF DOME CAMERA

The 500 TVL is priced at £46.33 and the 420 TVL is priced at £27.99.

Whilst it is only a £18.34 difference, I need to buy at least two…may be three.

Is there a massive picture quality difference between 420 and 500 TVL?

    RizB,

Yes there is a slightly noticeable difference in the visual resolution between a 420 and 500 TVL CCTV camera. You would see a greater difference if you went with a 600+ TVL camera. This vandal dome camera that we supply supports 620 TVL in day color mode and 700 TVL in black and white, night mode. This camera uses a Sony chip.
