Follow these instructions to reset the password on your Viewtron DVR or NVR. Need to reset the password on the VMS software instead? See How to Reset a Forgotten Viewtron VMS Password.
What You Need
- Access to the NVR or DVR on a monitor with a mouse
- A phone or camera to take a photo of the screen, if you need our help
Step 1: Try the Factory Default Login
If the password was never changed, use the factory default: username admin, password a1111111.
If admin / 123456 doesn’t work, that’s the Viewtron VMS software default. The NVR and DVR default is admin / a1111111.
Step 2: Use Your Security Questions
On the login screen, click Retrieve Password and choose the Question tab. If security questions were set up during installation, answer them to reset your password. If they weren’t set up, or you don’t remember the answers, use the dynamic password below.
Step 3: Request a Dynamic Password from Us
- On the login screen, click Retrieve Password and choose the Dynamic Password tab.
- Take a clear photo or screenshot of that screen.
- Do not close the Dynamic Password screen. If you close it until we send you the temporary password. Otherwise, the code changes and we’ll have to start over.
- Send the photo to us at info@cctvcamerapros.net. Be sure to send us the email from the address associated with your original order. We’ll send back a temporary password.
- Enter the temporary password, log in, and set a new password right away.

- Your model number (for example VT-NVR-16)
- The email you ordered with, so we can match your order
For your security, we only send reset codes to the owner of the system.
