HELP!! trying to remove (R) icon from display hH2.64

Hi , Im having a slight problem with my display for my camera setup . all the time i have got the cameras recording there is an R (recording) icon on the screen continuously . I have tried changing the settings from manual recording , to recording off and then timed recording , with and without motion detection , yet its always there . I prefer for people not to know it is always recording if they look at my monitor , But I cannot find any option to change this . Am I able to remove this icon ???Im really struggling to find a model number on this unit also . All I can get off it is 15" LCD display H2.64 DVR 8 camera surveillance system
