    destun,

Thank You for posting your question. The answer is that is depends on how the DVR software records to the PC. Some PC based DVRs record to the hard drive using incremental video files of say 5 minutes per. Someone that knows what they are doing can delete the files related to the time frame of video that they want removed. For other DVRs, it is all or nothing. The user can only remove all video currently saved.

I recommend that you find out the manufacturer make and model of the DVR card and reach out to their support to be sure.

Please let us know if we can help further.

Thank you for your reply, Mike.

This system is DVR-based and this person does have experience with this form of system so this skilled person could attempt to modify or delete certain scenes. Can attempts like that by anyone but the most-skilled data hacker leave a "trail" on some data log or file-change log?

Time stamping, log files, files encryption?

What are the main tell-tale signs to look for?

What can be suggested to do for this issue. Obviously, I cant explain this to the said person, of course. lol
