Option 1: Viewtron Active Deterrent Alarm Cameras
Viewtron active deterrent cameras are network IP cameras with a built-in alarm light and speaker. The team at CCTV Camera Pros also refers to these cameras simply as alarm security cameras.
Alarm Camera Key Features
Integrated Alarm Light and Speaker: The alarm light flashes and the speaker can emit an audible siren or play a pre-recorded warning message. The light and speaker can be triggered using any of the events supported by the camera. This includes all of the AI object detection events and alarm input port.
AI Software: These surveillance cameras have built-in AI software that is capable of detecting humans, cars, and faces. The AI recognize events such as line crossing detection (virtual trip wire) or area intrusion detection.
Customizable Audio Alarms: Users can choose from pre-recorded sirens and messages or upload custom messages via a micro SD card. This flexibility allows you to tailor the alarm to specific situations.
Manual and Automated Control: Alarms can be triggered automatically based on AI-detected events, or manually through the mobile app. This gives users real-time control over their surveillance and deterrence mechanisms.
External Alarm Integration: These cameras have alarm input and output ports, which allow for additional devices such as external floodlights or external sirens to be integrated into the system. The alarm input ports can be connected to devices such as magnetic door / window sensors and passive infrared motion detectors to trigger alarm events.
Two-Way Audio: With a built-in microphone, these cameras support two-way audio. Users can speak to individuals remotely from the mobile app for iPhone and Android, adding an extra layer of communication and utility.

Option 2: Viewtron Dual LED Cameras (Floodlight Cameras)
Viewtron dual LED security cameras have a white LED that acts as an alarm flood light. These dual LED cameras are similar to the Viewtron active deterrent cameras, except instead of a red and blue LED that flashes, these IP cameras have a white light. Customers that are looking for a flood light camera or security camera with light will like this option. You can find all of our security camera with light options here.
Floodlight Camera Demo
Watch this video to see how the camera’s “floodlight” is automatically triggered when it detects a person entering an intrusion zone on the side of my house. The camera automatically switches its IR night vision off when the white light is turned on.
Viewtron Floodlight cameras are now available in bullet and dome style both of these are 4K IP cameras with PoE and IR night vision.
Option 3: IP Cameras with Alarm Input / Alarm Output
Some Viewtron IP cameras have alarm relay input and alarm relay output ports. This allows you to connect external alarm devices to the camera For example, you can connect an external alarm light or siren to the alarm relay output port. And you can connect a magnetic door sensor or passive infrared motion detector to the alarm input port.
As you can see, CCTV Camera Pros has many useful options for integrating alarm devices such as lights and sirens into video surveillance systems. Here is a text transcript of the video at the top of this page.
Hi everyone. Mike from CCTV Camera Pros here in this video I want to talk about some security camera with alarm options that we supply. And this is both for IP cameras as well as CCTV cameras with alarm options. So what am I talking about when I say alarm options? Basically we have a lot of customers that want to integrate video surveillance systems with visual and audio alarms. So it could be a strobe light or a audible siren that they want integrated with their security camera system. And we have a number of solutions for this. So I’m going to talk about four different solutions. Number one, our Viewtron active deterrent cameras, or sometimes I just call them, are alarm cameras.
These are network IP cameras that have a built in alarm light as well as a built in speaker that could be used for a siren or a pre recorded alarm message. And these can both be triggered or one or the other can be triggered based on different types of events. So our active deterrent cameras have AI software built into them. The AI software could do things like detect humans, detect cars, detect faces. It could detect when a person like crosses a line or intrudes in a certain area. You can use those AI object detection events to turn on the alarm strobe light and also activate a siren or a recorded message on the camera that comes over the speaker. And our active deterrent cameras have some pre recorded sirens and messages built into them. Or you can insert a micro SD card into the SD card slot and you can upload custom messages that you want to play automatically when someone intrudes in an area, for example.
In addition, you can manually trigger those as well. So for example, from the mobile app you can turn on the alarm light and also turn on the siren or message on the loudspeaker. So it can be automated or a manual process. In addition, these Viewtron active deterrent cameras, they have external alarm input and output ports. So if you want to trigger an external like floodlight or strobe light or an external siren, one that’s not built into the camera, you can connect alarm devices to the alarm relay ports on these devices to trigger external alarms or use the input to trigger alarms as well. So you could connect a magnetic door sensor or a passive infrared motion detector to the alarm input. In addition, that speaker that’s built in these cameras can be used for two way audio. So let’s say you get an alert on your phone that someone’s intruded in the alarm area and you want to physically look in on that camera from the app and see what’s going on and then if you determine that it’s something that you want to take action on, you can, you can press a button and talk over the speaker as well.
And because there’s a microphone on the camera, so there’s two way audio support. Okay, so that was a lot to digest. Just for option number one, which is our Viewtron active deterrent cameras, also known as our Viewtron alarm security cameras. So option number two, we also now have Viewtron dual LED security cameras. So these are cameras that have a white LED on them that can turn on like, kind of like a floodlight. So if you want, let’s say after hours in a certain area, if there is someone detected that comes into the area and you want to turn on the. I’ll call this a floodlight. If you call it alarm light or a floodlight, this is a white visible light.
Let me back up a second. The active deterrent cameras, it’s a flashing red and blue light. On the, on the dual LED cameras, it’s a white light, so more like a flood security light. They’re called dual LED cameras because there’s also an infrared LED so the camera can see at night. It has built in IR night vision. So option number three, some cameras, so in addition to our active deterrent cameras, we have some other security cameras and these are also IP cameras that also have alarm inputs and alarm output ports. Ports on them. So for some of our Viewtron IP cameras that don’t have the built in alarm light and don’t have the built in speaker for the siren, some of them do have external alarm input, alarm output ports so you can connect external devices to them.
So that’s option number three, which is external alarm input and alarm output ports that are built into IP cameras, neutral IP cameras. And last, and this is a solution both for IP cameras as well as CCTV cameras. All of our Viewtron CCTV DVRs and our Viewtron IP camera NVRs all have alarm input and alarm relay output ports built into them. On the back of the DVRs there’s an alarm panel basically that has inputs and output ports so that you can connect again external lights, external speakers and for input ports, the best examples are magnetic door sensors, window sensors and external passive infrared motion detectors. But you’re really not limited to just alarm devices. So at my house we have a wireless access point on our patio in outdoor external wireless access point that we don’t like to keep on all the time. My wife likes to turn it off if we’re not using it. And I connected that to the alarm output port of our Viewtron NVR.
So I can very easily just turn that wireless access point on and off on our back patio. So I just want to throw that out there. Kind of an example that you could use these things for other than, you know, security peripherals you can use it for other than alarm devices. Make sure I didn’t miss anything here. So. Oh, also the alarm relay output ports on our Viewtron DVRs and NVRs, just like the IP cameras, you can trigger them manually. So in addition to like let’s say you have a CCTV camera set up and when motion is detected you want to trigger a external light that’s connected to a relay output. You can automate that with the motion detection.
And by the way, are these DVRs now have smart motion detection. So our CCTV cameras can also use AI software works much better than standard motion detection. I have another video on that that I’ll link to. But in addition to the automated alarm output triggering, you can also trigger any of the alarm output puts on the DVR from the mobile app as well. So it could be automated or it could be a manual process. Guys, I hope this video has been helpful. As you heard, we have many different security camera alarm integration options. Me and my guys, we could design custom solutions for you.
