Do Viewtron DVRs and NVRs give you access to an RTSP stream URL for each camera?

Yes. All of our Viewtron CCTV DVRs and Viewtron IP camera NVRs  give you direct access to the raw RTSP stream for all cameras that are connected to the DVR / NVR. This allows you to integrate with external IP systems without using a video encoder and it works for all BNC camera types including analog CCTV (CVBS), HT-TVI, AHD, and HD-CVI.

    All video resolutions are supported: D1, 960H, 1mp / 820p , 2mp / 1080p, 3mp, 4mp, 5mp, and 8mp / 4K.

    This is how it works.

    RTSP Stream URL for DVR

    1. On your Viewtron DVR or NVR, access the Network > Port settings page.
    2. Check the Enable checkbox in the RTSP section.
    3. Check Anonymous if you do not want to password protect the RTSP URL.
    4. Make note of the URL Example.
    5. Click Apply.

Now you can access the RTSP stream of each camera connected to the DVR using the following URL format

In the first example, we are accessing the RTSP stream of camera one on using the main stream (highest resolution).

In the second example, we are accessing the RTSP stream of camera two using the sub stream (lower resolution stream).

In both cases 192.168.0.101 is the local IP address of the Viewtron DVR.
