CCTV Camera Pros recieved the following questions related to Geovision software and the facial detection support built into it.
I purchased this NVR system from hunt electronics and I’m very unhappy. It constantly records, I have one 2 mega camera, and the whole system cost me $1200. I purchased an IP camera and it’s not compatible with my system.
I want to create a PC based NVR with WIN 7 mini itx i3 cpu 12gb ram, 120 SSD hard drive OCZ, and using Geovision software. That way I can have more control.
I have a copy of WHS 2011 which is a win 2008 server kernel. Can I use this OS instead?
Also, what is the deal with licensing? Each camera is a license? What about the facial recognition? I want to be able to count and record people only. That is the analytics I need. The sensitivity is bad on my system because of the continuous recording of my bushes waving back and forth.
I want a 4 camera system that supports other camera manufacturers, facial, license plate and people recording analytics. Please let me know how much the software would cost. Thanks.

Geovision supports the following 32-bit operating systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008
Geovision supports the following 64-bit operating systems: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008

If you use Geovision IP cameras, a 32 channel software license is included, but only works with Geovision IP cameras. If you want to us non-Geovision IP cameras, you need to purchase software licenses: https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/IP-Camera-Software-s/295.htm
What about the facial recognition?
Geovision has a facial detection feature. You can watch the video on this page to see if it fits your needs.
