I am an electrical contractor and have a customer who has a iSmart camera system (model # C8414PC). She wants me to hook it up for her, but the only instruction manual I seen was the user manual. She has 4 LED cameras, the DVR recorder, 60 ft. cables for each of the 4 cameras, mouse, and other "patch" cables, small CD, etc. It looks like a pretty simple set up, but I have one question since I've not installed one before. Since it has a USB cord, I'm assuming it can be hooked up to a computer. I didn't see any specifics as far a hook ups in the manual, and I can't seem to get in touch with anyone from the company. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Typically the USB inputs on the DVR are only for using a mouse or exporting video. The USB port will most likely not plug directly into a PC.
If the DVR supports remote viewing there should be a Eathernet port on the DVR. You should be able to plug the DVR into the router on site and view via Web browser or client software included with the DVR.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks James
