An installer in California contacted CCTV Camera Pros with the following question:

I need to know if the Remote Viewing Software of the iDVR-E8 (https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/8ch-Stand-Alone-DVR-p/idvr-e8.htm) is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and Safari 5.1 web browser. Also Mac OS X 10.7.xx Lion.

I am professional Surveillance Installer with a California Reseller’s License and am interested in becoming a dealer / reseller.

    CCTV Camera Pros response:

    Thank You for your interest.

The Mac DVR viewer software for the iDVR-E4, iDVR-E8, iDVR-E16, and iDVR-RT16 surveillance DVR models is compatible with Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Mac OS X Lion operating systems. Mac users must use this DVR client software and not safari web browser for DVR view access from Mac computers. Windows users can use the Internet Explorer web browser. Please note that the user experience through the Mac software is far better than what they would get with Safari anyway, as the viewer and player software allows users to view up to 16 cameras live, control the functions of the DVR, and play back recorded video remotely over a network / Internet connection.

You can see some screen shots of the Mac software as well as the mobile app support from iPhone and Android here:

Here is an update to this topic. CCTV Camera Pros just released a new version of the client Mac surveillance software for iDVR-E. Watch this video to see how users can search, playback, and export video surveillance footage from an iDVR CCTV DVR using the Macintosh software.

When you export a video file, you can take that file anywhere and playback the exported footage using the virtual DVR player built into the Mac software.

To learn more about the latest iDVR-E DVRs which support both analog SD and HD CCTV cameras, please visit this page: https://iDVR.net
