Will my AHD10 cameras work on a Viewtron DVR?

Yes. Night Owl lists the DVR-AHD10B-81-RS-2 in its AHD10 series, which uses AHD and analog CVBS cameras such as the CM-AHD10W-BU. The VT-DVR-8 accepts AHD, HD-TVI, HD-CVI and CVBS on each of its 8 BNC inputs and adds 8 IP camera inputs, so you can keep every wired camera and add IP cameras later. Viewtron DVRs support up to 12TB per hard drive bay, such as our 12TB surveillance hard drive.

Can I add new cameras to my AHD10 DVR instead?

First check whether your DVR records 1080p. Look at the recording resolution in the DVR menu or the label, because some similar Night Owl models record 720p only. If it records 1080p, you can add 1080p cameras, but a 4K or 5MP camera will not work on it. If it records only 720p, we recommend replacing the DVR instead. Will the Night Owl app still work?
