I have some private customers that have their holiday homes set up with an IP camera. It can be monitored wia Internet. It also can send pictures via FTP. However the videostreams can only be saved on a running computer in the house. Of course this is unsafe if a thief brake in and steal the computer. Another camera has a SD-card to save on but this is also very unsafe. Steal the camera and all is gone.
What I am looking for is a Camera that can send an alarmfile/videofile using FTP, not only pictures. Is there a camera like that out there? To an affordable price.
A system like Y-Cam's HomeMonitor would of course be the best, but it seams that system is not available to setup yourself.
Thank You for posting your question. Zavio IP cameras can be configured to send a video via FTP when motion detection is sensed. The Zavio cameras that have alarm inputs can also send video or snapshots based on alarms from external devices. You can find Zavio IP cameras here:
I recently setup a project that uploaded snapshots via FTP at a set time interval. You can also send video this way and again, you can do it based on motion detection and other alarm types as well. You can read more about the FTP snapshot project here to see some of the screenshots of the setup screens.
