Which Security Cameras Work with my Eyemax DVR?

A customer recently contacted looking for security cameras that are compatible with an Eyemax CCTV DVR.

This is what the customer asked.

I had my security camera system professionally installed and I don’t know what parts they used (I’m guessing a no name brand from China). Is there a way I can find out what camera types and video resolutions are compatible with my system? I recently tried to add some new cameras and they only show black and white video for some reason.

The DVR does not have a brand or manufacturer on it. The DVR only shows the following on the silver product label on the back: “Digital Video Recorder TVST STI708”.

This is what I recommended.

I was able to find a specification online for that DVR. The manufacturer is Eyemax and it is compatible with 1080p HD-TVI cameras and analog CCTV cameras.

There is no reason to use analog cameras at this point when you can use 1080p HD-TVI. The resolution of the HD-TVI is WAY higher than analog.

You can use any of these 1080p TVI cameras or any of these 4-in-1 HD security cameras (they also support 1080p TVI) with that Eyemax DVR.

I suspect that the cameras that you attempted to add to your system are only showing in black and white because they are AHD format and not fully compatible with your DVR.
