We have a jpeg 2000 Stand Alone DVR CCTV system installed.
Last week it started beeping and saying there was no HDD detected.I opened it up and made sure the connections were secure and it now recognizes the Hard drive ok however it used to be able to play back and see as far back as a week or so worth of recording dates and now it is only going as far back as the following day?
I set to factory default and cleared hdd and set time/date etc.The record light is red and(as far as I know)is set to record continuously?
I would really appreciate if anyone could offer any advice as to what the reason for this could be?
Thank you in advance.September 18, 2013 at 9:43 am #32553
If your JPEG2000 is giving the error “No HDD detected”, this means it is not recognizing the internal Hard Drive being used to store the recorded videos. This would explain why you are not able to look at the previously recorded data. To fix this issue you will need to replace the internal Hard Drive, for instructions on how to replace / add a Hard Drive please see the following article — http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/DVR-Hard-Drive-Installation-s/218.htm
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your reply!
I got the issue with the HDD not being detected sorted. It will now recognize it and record ok but when playing back it will now only go as far as the following day?
I don’t know if a failing drive could cause this?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.Kind regards.September 19, 2013 at 12:33 pm #32555
What size hard drive is in the unit?

It used to play back as far as the previous week so it isn’t a “size” issue with the drive!
Thanks.September 20, 2013 at 8:17 am #32557
It is hard to believe you were getting a week with a 250GB HDD in a JPEG2000 DVR. Is the DVR set to record based on Motion Detection?
Also you may want to check the “Record Configuration” on the DVR. You can try lowering the Frame rate / resolution. This will help obtain more days of recording.

I can’t remember the exact amount but we were able to go back at least 4 days.No it’s not set to Motion Detection it’s set to record continuous?
Do you know what I should lower the frame rate too?
I’ve got it set to factory default at the minute.
Do you think a failing hardrive could cause these problems?
I’m wondering if it’s worth buying a new Hdd to see if it makes a difference?
