Hello Modo,
If your JPEG2000 is giving the error “No HDD detected”, this means it is not recognizing the internal Hard Drive being used to store the recorded videos. This would explain why you are not able to look at the previously recorded data. To fix this issue you will need to replace the internal Hard Drive, for instructions on how to replace / add a Hard Drive please see the following article — https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/DVR-Hard-Drive-Installation-s/218.htm
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank You
JamesHello JCHaldas,
Thank you for your reply!
I got the issue with the HDD not being detected sorted. It will now recognize it and record ok but when playing back it will now only go as far as the following day?
I don’t know if a failing drive could cause this?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.Kind regards. What size hard drive is in the unit?
Please advise.
Thank You
James250GB.
It used to play back as far as the previous week so it isn’t a “size” issue with the drive!
Thanks.Modo,
It is hard to believe you were getting a week with a 250GB HDD in a JPEG2000 DVR. Is the DVR set to record based on Motion Detection?
Also you may want to check the “Record Configuration” on the DVR. You can try lowering the Frame rate / resolution. This will help obtain more days of recording.
Thank You
JamesHi JCHaldas
I can’t remember the exact amount but we were able to go back at least 4 days.No it’s not set to Motion Detection it’s set to record continuous?
Do you know what I should lower the frame rate too?
I’ve got it set to factory default at the minute.
Do you think a failing hardrive could cause these problems?
I’m wondering if it’s worth buying a new Hdd to see if it makes a difference?
Thank you.
