Enabling “Lite” Video Mode on Viewtron DVRs

Sometimes, it makes sense to make a tradeoff of higher resolution for more framerate and longer recording time.

Viewtron DVRs have a setting that allows you to do exactly this: Adjust the resolution without changing the camera’s FOV or Aspect Ratio. It’s called Lite Mode.

You can find Lite mode here:

Start -> Settings -> Camera -> Camera Signal

Once Enabled, hit Apply.

Then, you can double-check your resolution and framerate in the Encode Parameters:

Start -> Settings -> Record -> Encode Parameters

Now you can see there is higher framerates to choose from! The lower resolution will also lengthen your recording time before overwriting.
