  • CCTV Camera Pros recommends setting your Viewtron DVR to record video surveillance footage using H.265 or H.265+ encoding for better DVR disk space usage.

    H.265 DVR recording

    To setup H.265 video codec recording, do the following on your DVR.

    1. Click on the menu button in the lower right and select settings.
    2. From the main settings screen click on the Encode Parameters link in the Record section. The above screen will appear.
    3. Set the Encode setting for each of your security cameras to H.265 or H.265+
    4. Be sure to do this for Schedule Recording and Event Recording by clicking on those links near the top of the settings.
    5. Click apply after you change each one.
