Viewtron VMS Mac Software Cannot Be Opened Because Developer Cannot Be Verified

If you are receiving this error while trying to install the Viewtron VMS software for Mac, here is the solution.

Because the Viewtron VMS software is not downloaded from the official Apple Mac Store, you may receive the following error message when installing.

“Cannot Be Opened Because The Developer Cannot Be Verified”

Here is how you can continue with the installation.

1) Go to System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions) > Security & Privacy > General tab.

2) At the bottom, you’ll see a message: “‘Viewtron VMS’ was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer.”

3) Click the Open Anyway button next to it. (This option appears only after you’ve tried opening the app once.) If it does NOT allow you to click the OPEN ANYWAY button click the lock icon in the lower left and enter your password.

4) Go back to the app, double-click it again, and a pop-up will ask for confirmation. Click Open to launch it. macOS will now trust this app, and you won’t need to repeat this process for that specific app.
