Follow these instructions if you are setting up a Viewtron HDMI to IP video encoder with a Viewtron IP to HDMI TV decoder.

    HDMI to RTSP DVR

Here is a wiring diagram for setting up one encoder with one decoder to send the HDMI video output from a Viewtron DVR over an IP network to a TV.

    1. The Viewtron IP camera connects via Cat5 cable to your network switch or router.
    2. The Viewtron IP to HDMI decoder connects to that same network switch.
    3. The RTSP stream is setup via the decoders web interface.
    4. The decoder pulls the camera’s RTSP video stream over the network and decodes it.
    5. The HDMI output of the decoder connects to the HDMI input of your TV.
    6. The decoder can be located anywhere on the same network as the camera.

Network Setup / IP Address Assignment

    1. Connect the IP-HDMI-D4 and IP-HDMI-E1 to your network router or switch.
    2. Connect the power supply of the encoder and decoder to a power source.
    3. Connect the HDMI output of the decoder to the HDMI input of your TV.
    4. Connect the HDMI input of the encoder to the HDMI output of your Viewtron DVR / NVR.
    5. By default the decoder uses DHCP, so it will be assigned an IP address by your network router.

Download the Viewtron Encoder / Decoder Network Scan Tool

    1. Download the Decoder Network Scan Tool on a Windows PC so that you can locate the decoder on your network.
    2. Unzip that file on your PC and run the network scan tool.
    3. The network scanner will search your network for all Viewtron Encoders and Decoders.

    IP Netwrok Scanner Tool

You can see in the above screenshot, an IP encoder and IP decoder was found and the tool displays the LAN (local area network) IP address of it.

If you need to set the IP addresses of the encoder and decoder to be within the range of your network, you can click on the device in the scan results, then click on the Set button in the lower right. This will bring up the IP address set window where you can modify the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway IP to match with your network.

Configure the IP to HDMI Decoder

To configure the IP decoder to connect to the IP stream of the encoder, do the following.

    1. Open the IP decoder settings in a web browser using the IP address. Default id: admin. Default password: admin.
    2. Click on the stream address setting link on the left.
    3. Scroll down to the Encoder device section. The encoder list dropdown should display all of the Viewtron IP encoders on your network.
    4. Select one and enter the userid and password, then click Get URL.
    5. All of the encoders stream URLs will be displayed.
    6. Click on the (copy) link next to the TS url. Example from above: http://192.168.1.168/0.ts
    7. Scroll up to the top of the screen to the section.

    set encoder stream url

Paste the URL into the Channel 1 address field and click apply.

You should now see a live video display on your TV.

Using Multiple IP Video Encoders with one Video Decoderone IP decoder with multiple video encoders

The Viewtron IP to HDMI TV decoder does support more than one input stream. You can connect it to up to 4 HDMI encoders. To do this, change the Play number  of channels from 1 to 2, 3, or 4 and press apply. That will open up the additional Channel address fields. Repeat the steps in the above section to select the video stream URL from the other encoders and paste them into channels 2, 3, and 4 and press apply.

Your IP to TV decoder can now display the live streams from multiple HDMI to IP encoder boxes.
