  • I currently have cat6A wiring throughout my home for a camera system. My father was the previous owner and ran cat5e and Siamese coax cable wire in a few locations that I can no longer access to run wires

    I have a high interest in your Viewtron 180 degree cameras. I’m wanting to make sure these cameras are cat5e compatible and have human detection. I would like to setup perimeter intrusion when needed and I really like the idea that if the cameras spot a human on the property it sends an alert to our phones for viewing immediately. Is this something that those 180 degree cameras you have do?

    I’m probably looking at a 20+ camera system. I don’t need them all at once but may add in the future. I probably need about a dozen now. I don’t mind if a few areas are overlapped with camera recordings. I actually quite prefer it so there is absolutely no blind spots.

    The Viewtron 180 security camera is my favorite IP camera that we supply because of the amazing ultra wide angle of view and all of the active deterrent alarm capabilities that are built into it.     In regards to the camera locations where you have coax cable run, instead of CAT5e cable, take a look at our analog to IP video encoder.

    The video encoder is perfect for customers that have a few locations that have hard to replace coax cable in place, but want to take advantage of an all IP camera based Viewtron system. It basically converts an analog HD security camera (coax camera) into a Viewtron IP camera. This allows you to use a Viewtron NVR with all of the AI functions, even on your coax cameras.

    In regards to a security recorder for at least 20 cameras, I highly recommend our 32 channel NVR.

    All of the AI software functions that are built into Viewtron IP cameras are completely integrated into the user interface of Viewtron NVRs. This allows you to perform all of the setup, search and playback functions of the AI alarms using the simple to use NVR interface.

    In regards to how much video surveillance footage the NVR can store, it comes with a 4TB hard drive. You can upgrade that. Plus it has 8 hard drive bays that each support up to a 12TB drive. You can use our video storage calculator on this page to estimate the amount of hard drive space you need based on the number of days of recording that you want to retain before the recorder starts to overwrite the oldest video.
