Do Viewtron LPR Cameras Support Vehicle Line Crossing Detection?

A customer contacted us that was testing a Viewtron LPR-IP4 with the HTTP POST API contacted CCTV Camera Pros with the above question. He already has the license plate detection area set up with a minimum and maximum plate size. He wanted to know if the LPR camera could also have a trigger line for vehicle detection, or would an intrusion detection zone that is wide and very thin do the same job?

We let him know that line crossing detection for cars or people is a feature of the general Viewtron AI security cameras, not the Viewtron LPR models.

An LPR camera event is one of these:
- A license plate inside the detection zone
- A matched plate number (from a list)
- An unrecognized plate (‘strange plate’ in the camera UI)
The general Viewtron AI cameras use the same HTTP POST API. This line crossing demo uses human detection. Vehicle line crossing is set up the same way. Every model on the AI security cameras page supports line crossing except the two LPR models.

The line crossing API covers that HTTP POST for the general AI cameras.

On the LPR-IP4, the detection zone plus the minimum and maximum size filters where plates are detected. A wide, thin zone is still that kind of filter. It does not add a separate trigger line.
