A customer contacted CCTV Camera Pros today and asked the following question:

I was reading about the iDVR-E16, 16ch Stand Alone DVR, H.264, iPhone, Blackberry, Android. I am wondering if it is possible to map a network drive from the device and on alert, set off an upload of the last 5 minutes of video. I am basically wanting to make sure I have a way to still access the data if someone steals the DVR in a home invasion.

    CCTV Camera Pros response:

Thank You for contacting CCTV Camera Pros. That is a great question. Unfortunately, you can not map a network drive using the iDVR, however there are some options to secure your data.

    1) You can lock the DVR in a DVR lockbox so that it is secure. The DVR lockbox is like a safe. You can see this option here:

    2) Instead of using the iDVR, if you go with a PC based DVR like these from NUUO, you can map a network drive:

You can learn more about NUUO systems and watch some great videos here:

Please let us know if we can help further.
