IP PTZ Camera 25x Zoom Video Demo

Watch this video demo to see our Viewtron IP PTZ camera with 25x zoom focus on a person that is over 200 feet away from where the camera is installed.

IP PTZ camera installation

This is where we have the IP-PTZ-425 installed at CCTV Camera Pros office. This is the front of our building. You can see that we have the IP PTZ mounted to a standard gray electrical junction box.

Here is the full size image of the above video thumbnail. You can click on the above image to see the full 4K resolution image that was captured from the HDMI output of the NVR. Although this is a 4mp IP camera (4 megapixel resolution), the HDMI output of the Viewtron NVR that it is connected to is 4K resolution, so the video screenshot that I captured is 4K resolution.

To record the above video and capture all of the below surveillance snapshots, we connected the security camera to one of our Viewtron IP camera NVRs.

IP PTZ camera parking lot

The above snapshot is the view of our parking lot with the zoom lens of the camera at the widest position (zoomed out).

You can see me standing in the distance, 210 feet away from where the camera in installed.

Here is the view with the 25x optical zoom / motorized zoom lens of the camera is zoomed all the way in.

AI Human Object Detection Demo

auto-tracking PTZ camera

In case you missed it, a few days ago I posted this auto-tracking PTZ video demo using the same camera. It demonstrates the AI software that is built into this camera. An intrusion zone is setup in our parking lot and when a human object is detected entering the zone, the camera auto-tracks the person for as long as they are within view of the camera.

Video Transcript

Hey everyone. Mike, from CCTV Camera Pros, here. I’m going to be doing some testing with our new Viewtron IP pan tilt zoom camera. It’s that dome PTZ that you see there behind me. That’s an AI camera with auto-tracking software, but you can also manually control the pan tilt zoom of that camera.

I recently had a customer email in and asked what it looks like at about a 200-foot distance with the zoom lens zoomed all the way in. That’s a 25x optical zoom lens. So what I did was I measured off 200 feet, actually a little further. The point that I measured to is about 210 feet from where that camera is mounted. You see me right here using a measuring wheel and going out that distance. Then what I’m going to do is I’m going to zoom the camera all the way in as far as it can go, all the way to the 25X zoom position, so you can see what it looks like at 210 feet away.

Okay, so I’m just about there now. Right there is 210 feet away from where the camera is installed. It’s right at that median that divides the parking lot there a bit. Okay, so the next thing that I’m going to do is I’m going to enable the PTZ controls on the NVR by clicking on this icon. Then I’m going to move the PTZ controls over here, the upper left, and then I’m going to zoom the lens all the way into that spot that I measured to. That’s 210 feet away from where the camera is installed.

In a few seconds, you’ll see me walk into view from the right, and then I’m going to stand exactly at that point where I measured to. Again, this is about 210 feet away from where the PTZ camera’s installed. The motorized zoom lens, the 25X zoom lens, is zoomed all the way in at this position right here. I want to mention a couple other things before we wrap up. Again, although I was manually controlling the pan tilt zoom controls of that camera for this demo to show the 25X zoom, that’s an AI security camera with auto tracking. It’s an auto-tracking PTZ.

So I made some other video demos recently where I lock the PTZ controls and set up an intrusion zone so when a human is detected, it auto tracks the human as long as it’s within the camera view. I’ll link to those videos down below so you can check those out too. That has built-in infrared night vision. The IR, the infrared of that camera, is rated at 100 meters or 300 feet. Also, it’s a full 360 dome. So, the panning of that camera could go full 360 around. It’s IP66 weatherproof rated. So it holds up just fine down here in rainy south Florida. It’ll do good in wet conditions. It’ll do well in cold conditions as well. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to reach out to me anytime. I can be reached at mike@cctvcamerapros.net.
