Hi everyone. Mike from CCTV Camera Pros. Here in this video, I’m going to compare the resolution of a 4K IP camera versus a 1080p IP camera. 4K resolution is equivalent to eight megapixel and 1080p is equivalent to two megapixel. 4K is 3840 pixels wide by 2160 high, and 1080p is 1920 wide by 1080 high, so 4K resolution is twice as wide and twice as tall as 1080p. This video is best viewed on a 4K monitor and make sure the YouTube video player is playing at 4K video resolution. That way you could see what happens when I stretch out a 1080p image to fill the screen of a 4K monitor. Let’s take a look.

This is some sample video surveillance footage that was recorded using a Viewtron 4K IP camera. 4K resolution is equivalent to eight megapixel resolution. This was recorded using a Viewtron NVR, and again, I highly recommend that you view this video on a 4K monitor if possible. Next, I am going to overlay the video recorded from our 1080p IP camera. The 1080p video was also recorded using the same Viewtron Network video recorder. Next, I’m going to stretch the 1080p video to fill the entire screen. If you are watching in 4K resolution, this is where you’ll really see the big difference between 4K and 1080p video surveillance footage.

Guys, I hope this video has been helpful. As you could see, there’s a big difference in video resolution when you compare for a 4K IP camera versus a 1080p IP camera. If it’s within your budget, I highly recommend going with 4K cameras. Actually, there’s not that big of a difference price-wise now that prices have come down. Now, you may have a legacy NVR that’s not compatible with 4K, and you have to stick with 1080p, but if you’re installing a new system or upgrading to one of our Viewtron 4K NVRs, I highly recommend going with a 4K IP camera, and you should consider our AI cameras on top of that. We have 4K AI cameras.

If you want to learn more about Viewtron IP camera systems, we also have B and C cameras and DVRs, again, but we have AI cameras, we have license plate recognition. You can learn about all of our Viewtron products at www.cctvcamerapros.com/Viewtron.

Thank you for watching.
