The 5MP-BL52 is an HD lipstick camera that supports 5 megapixel video surveillance resolution. Watch the above 4K video surveillance demo recording using this 5mp lipstick security camera.
You may be asking why we recorded a 5 megapixel surveillance camera at 4k resolution. The reason is because most HD TVs and HDMI monitors are either 1080p or 4k resolution. There are no native 5 megapixel TVs out there. This camera is either going to be connected to a DVR, which will be connected to a monitor. Or, it may be connected to a TV without a DVR using a BNC to HDMI converter. Either way, 5mp security cameras are typically connected to 4K monitors. This means that the 5mp video is stretched to 4K when it is being viewed.
You can see in the above video that stretching 5mp resolution to 4k can still look great. To record the above video, we connected the camera to this 16ch iDVR-PRO16H AHD hybrid DVR. This DVR is capable of recording 5mp video, but the HDMI output of the DVR supports 4k resolution. We have ours connected to a 4K smart TV. When we view this camera live on this TV or play back recorded video, the 5mp video is stretched to 4K.
If you watch the above video on a 4k monitor, you should select 4K resolution in the YouTube player to experience exactly what this looks like.

For new system installations, CCTV Camera Pros highly recommends iDVR-PRO AHD hybrid DVRs for use with this camera. However, we also work with many customers that have existing DVRs and are looking for compatible security cameras as replacements. The various video formats that the 5MP-BL52 supports make it compatible with many other DVRs. We also have many other HD security cameras and analog CCTV cameras that are compatible with Swann DVRs, Samsung DVRs, Night Owl DVRs, Lorex DVRs, QSee DVRs, and many others.
Some manufacturers make it difficult to find a security camera compatible with their DVR. This is intentional so that customers think that they need to buy only from them. We help customers figure out which security cameras are compatible with DVRs.
